I inherited a number of cook books from several members of my extended family but some are over 80 years old, heavily used and largely falling apart. Some relate to Jewish recipes and many of them became family dishes by association with Jewish neighbours. However some include products or items I have never heard of and a more up-to-date replacement is long overdue.
A good book and an excellent reference source.

Not only does this have great recipes, but often there's a story attached to it. Perusing recipes, will drinking a coffee-wonderful! The book is divided into holidays and festivals, with background and recipes for each. What I really like is that there are not just Ashkenazi recipes, but also Israeli and Sephardic ones too. Definitely a book to have, even if you use it just once o twice a year.
