5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic book!
This book is a fascinating insight into the X15 rocketplane, which, in my opinion, is every bit as interesting and dramatic as the story of Apollo and the associated space programmes. Like Skylab (another fascinating story which deserves to be more widely known), it tells the story from the human angle. It's particularly interesting to read the recollections of 2of the...

The book was a good record of the X15 program but it concentrated more on the people than on the Hardware. It was very short of illusrtations and diagrams.

This book is a fascinating insight into the X15 rocketplane, which, in my opinion, is every bit as interesting and dramatic as the story of Apollo and the associated space programmes. Like Skylab (another fascinating story which deserves to be more widely known), it tells the story from the human angle. It's particularly interesting to read the recollections of 2of the pilots who moved into the NASA astronaut core (Neil Armstrong and Joe Engle), particularly Joe Engle, who piloted both the X15 and the Space Shuttle (arguably the direct descendant of the X15).

In short, like the other books in the excellent Outward Odyssey series, this is a fantastic and fascinating read, also it is not overloaded with technical detail so it presents the story in a easy to understand way for the non-technically minded (like myself!).

Other books are more technical but this one. covers more of the human story. Therefore to anyone who has a previous release of the next 15 book this is a very complimentary addition.
