I bought this book as a gift for my niece, but I enjoyed reading it so much I had to buy a second copy to keep. Its a sweet, emotive and inspiring story that is beautifully brought to life by the illustrations. I especially love spotting the hidden details such as several to references Jules Vern's 'Round the world in 80 days' (the French version of course). Add to Basket!

A wonderful introduction for children to the work of this important artist. Clearly written in a way that even small children with understand and empathise with, with brightly coloured pictures showing the artist's journey and his work. There is a dream-like quality to the text that makes it a joy to read, and the message is one of hope. A special book to be treasured.

This book was very useful with a class of young children as a good reference for their project on Rousseau. The text was easily accessed and the illustrations helped with understanding of his life.
