This is a profound book about preaching in today's world. It shows wide reading on the subject with copious quotation from past masters of preaching and drawn from many and varied sources. But its greatest reward is in the sharing of his experience in the ministry. Every young minister should read it and think deeply about what the late John Stott suggests about ministry today. He has challenging insights about how ministry should be organised in a congregation and about a minister's study and use of time. Highly recommended.
