5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting and informative
I bought this for my boyfriend as he is a keen home brewer. He really enjoyed it. it is quite heavy on the science, hence the title of the book but it's not inaccessible. It includes recipes for anyone brave enough to try brewing from scratch. Any enthusiast will enjoy this if they have an interest in the technicalities and processes involved.

versus
3.0 out of 5 stars For the dedicated beer enthusiast
Bought as a present for my other half as he has started to home brew his own beer, he enjoyed the first few chapters especially the history of beer and he was able to answer his own questions about bubbles and pressure but once the book started to go into the detailed maths and tables he found it boring as it went way over his head.
