This review is from: Psalms: Psalms 42-106 v. 2 (Expositional Commentary) (Paperback)
This, like volume 1, benefits by being the second of three volumes as this means that Psalms as a book is opened up with enough detailed analysis of the text for whoever is reading it and for whatever purpose. Boice deals carefully with text with a verse by verse analysis which means there is careful exegesis (a fancy theological term for what it all means) coupled with helpful examples and pastoral application. All in all this is a helpful approach and means there is much that will challenge the reader as well as helping them to understand the text. Like the first volume this is extremely readable and can be used by anyone looking to read through the Psalms understand them. On the other hand there is enough detail for those who are going to teach them to various groups in the church or use them for evangelistic purposes.
