The author definitely manages to communicate a sense of enthusiasm about PPM. And the book has a range of topics covered which makes it substantial enough to match the price. Another plus point is that it is written in plain language and easy to read.

However, in a number of ways, the book gives the impression of being less than rigorous. For example, on p23, while the book claims that PPM is not just "Enterprise Project Management", it does not provide any support for the claim. There is no definition of EPM or any reference. Other claims are made without supporting evidence or references (eg p50 on best performing companies using "Stage-Gate"...
