4.0 out of 5 stars Competent detective story, 17 Mar. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The basic plot is of a killer targeting nuns, but the main interest is in the interplay between the younger detective Lieutenant and her father, a Sergeant in her team hunting the killer, and in various family and character-driven elements of the plot. The book was first published in 1988 when serial killers were a newer idea than they are now.

Some of this feels a little dated now because of the familiarity of the serial killer sub-genre, but if you can get past that, it's a well-written book. This was made in to a weak film starring Charles Bronson towards the end of his career - if you saw it, don't let it put you off. It's a decent crime novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining, 27 July 2012

I enjoyed this book quite a lot, even though some of it was predictable. The storyline was interesting, and you could feel the battle of wills going on.

A good read.
