First off, I'm a huge Taskmaster fan so this review will be biased. For anyone who doesn't know him Taskmaster (Tony Masters) is a Marvel "villain" with photographic reflexes. This means if he see's someone do something he can copy it, because of this he has the shield skills of captain america, the hand to hand combat moves of iron fist, the archery skills of hawk eye and so on. Taskmaster has put these skills to use over the years training henchmen for other Marvel villains.

Sounds like he's got his life sorted right? wrong! The side effect of these photographic reflexes is that everytime he learns something new, a few more memories are lost. As a result Tony remembers very little about his past, who he is, how he got his powers and maybe most worrying of all, why every villain in the Marvel universe is after him.

That's where Taskmaster: Unthinkable starts. Sitting alone in a diner, listening to a song he barely remembers from his past Taskmaster follows clues from his shattered memories to discover who he really is.

As I said earlier I am a huge Taskmaster fan and this is now one of my favourite graphic novels. There's plenty of twists and turns throughout the story including a major surprise which really helps to flesh out the character of the taskmaster. I'd recommend this to any fans of taskmaster or those who like a lot of surprises in their comics.

It is a good look at a Marvel character that is not utilised that much these days. Also has homages to the silver age, very fun read.

Of all the wacky zane marvelous characters out there, I must confess I had yet to come across one as delicately catered to in terms of plottwist romance and backlogs.
