5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining stories
These issues of the Amazing Spider-Man - #574-577 - are collected, along with "Hammerhead: Death of a Wise Guy" from Spider-Man - Brand New Day, as Spider-Man: Crime And Punisher TPB (Graphic Novel Pb). They are entertaining stories, with good art and scripting, with a mixture of non-Spider-Man and Peter Parker focussed-stories, as well as Spider-Man action...

These issues of the Amazing Spider-Man - #574-577 - are collected, along with "Hammerhead: Death of a Wise Guy" from Spider-Man - Brand New Day, as Spider-Man: Crime And Punisher TPB (Graphic Novel Pb). They are entertaining stories, with good art and scripting, with a mixture of non-Spider-Man and Peter Parker focussed-stories, as well as Spider-Man action.

Issue #574 features Flash Thompson, as we see aspects of his life in flashback that have affected his adult behaviour, and influenced his actions in Iraq to help his comrades in action, that led to him sacrificing himself for their safety. No Spidey-stuff here, except an occasional panel in the flashbacks.

Spider-Man - Brand New Day Extra #1: "Death of a Wise Guy". This is the life-story of Hammerhead, told in flashback, as Mr Negative's tame scientists attempt to save him from his `execution' in Underworld issues #5, by converting him to a cyborg. No Spidey stuff here either.

Issues #575 & #576 - "Family Ties" - Mr Negative sends Hammerhead out to recruit the street gangs to his organisation, mainly by killing them as an incentive to the survivors to join him. Spidey gets caught in the middle, as Peter Parker and Nora Winters are out interviewing gang members when it all blows up... and discovers that Hammerhead is now impervious to his humour! This is an equal-time Peter Parker/Spider-Man story, as Pete's life is a major part of the story.

Issue #577 - "Old Hunting Buddies" is an involuntary team-up with the Punisher in a 32-page story to prevent supervillain Moses Magnum from selling a new drug that gives you temporary Hulk-like strength. There is a 6-page "Bookie" story guest-starring Jonah Jameson splitting this adventure - I don't know if this was an extra-length issue, or is it is a backup story from somewhere slotted in as a break.
