This review is from: Essential Marvel Two-In-One Volume 2 TPB: v. 2 (Paperback)
The first 1/4 of this book features Marvel's most loveable character teaming up with Nick Fury, Deathlok and Ben's Fantastic Four team-mates as they try to head off an attempt to attack President Jimmy Carter before Ben heads off to England. The Sub-Mariner briefly interrupts matters as he and Ben face the Piranha.
Once in London there's a great 5 part tale that goes from Kung-Fu with Shang-Chi, to a spy thriller as Hydra attempt to clone Spider-Woman to horror and mysticism as The Invisible Girl steps in as Ben's great love Alicia Masters is transformed into a monster.
As well as Deathlok this volume features a couple more of Marvel's newer creations from that time, Skull the Slayer and Jack of Hearts.
Two-in-One Annual 2 has Ben, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel and Warlock against the warlord of Titan Thanos.
Other tales see Benjamin teamed-up with many Marvel greats, Nighthawk, Daredevil, The Vision, Yellow-Jacket, Black Panther, Brother Voodoo, Captain America, Man-Thing, Nova, Hercules, Hulk, Dr. Strange, The Beast, Ms. Marvel, Wonder-Man and Moon Knight.
My favourite tale sees the banes of Ben's life The Yancy Street Gang assist him and Jack of Hearts against the Machinesmith. During this period the FF were going through some serious internal issues which plays on Ben's mind throughout.
This was a highly enjoyable read, a collection of well written often off-beat and humorous tales and more than worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Thing, 23 July 2008
This review is from: Essential Marvel Two-In-One Volume 2 TPB: v. 2 (Paperback)
Hi Guys & Girls
This is one of the best ideas that has been in production for some years, I would recomend that all comic fans have a read of these Vols 1&2, What a great hero, lots of humour and great guest apperances, the only stupid this about the book is No. 21 missing and yes it is due to the rights of the Doc Savage were bought in the 70s to make a B rated movie, Why on earth they could not let the issue in this collection is realy beyomd me????, this also is a set that you do not need a mortgage to puchase, as the set of comics from 1-50 would cost you more that £100+.

Best regards

Humphrey
