A friend suggested this series for me. She knows I like romance and paranormal books, this series had both. This series was slow in some places but overall enjoyable.

This series is about werecat shape shifters and their pride. Most Prides have toms but not many tabbies. Each Pride is lucky to have a tabby. The tabby is the Prides most treasured prizes. Tabbies are found to be attractive and fertile by members of the Pride and the Strays.

Strays are werecats that don't belong to a pride or whose who are human born.

Each Pride has enforcers. Enforcers can travel on 2 feet in human form or on 4 feet in werecat form.

Faythe is the only tabby in her Pride apart from her mother. She is wanted by many toms but her heart only wants one. She has many brothers and cousins but she will be Alpha one day if her father wants her to be.

Each book continues on from the last one.

I would recommend this series.

Okay, I was a massive fan of the series all the way through. I find Vincent's writing to be really engaging and I thought the main story arc was brilliant. I loved the characters, especially Faythe. She may not be perfect (and yeah, at times she downright irritating) but she was lovable for precisely that reason.
I was, however, a little bit disappointed with this book. Whilst the action was as fast paced as ever it seemed to me that as the inevitable end approached Vincent kind of lost her steam. The last part of the book- particularly Faythe's final decision between the two guys in her life- seemed to me to be very rushed. Honestly, it felt like she tried to wind it up as easily as possible and, for that reason, I felt that the ending was quite deflating.

With the title offering a give-away of part of the plot I thought that the scenes dealing with the trauma of death were very well written. Faythe remains irritating - is she really supposed to be 22? - but there has been significant movement and change in her to make her seem real.
Rachel Vincent is particularly good at writing the baddies - I quite wanted to eviscerate Colin Dean and several others myself.
The werecat world and expanding variety of shifters is consistent and credible and this expansion leads to me wonder firstly if we may see stories from other shifter communities and secondly if it's time for another werecat's story. The end certainly left doors open - Holly's knowledge, Ethan's unborn baby.... I'm very hopeful.

I absolutely LOVED this book. After waiting 2 whole weeks after release date to actually get my hands on a copy, I read the book in one sitting. There was action from word go, and it just kept going right to the very end. This is my absolute fave series of books, and I am gutted that there will be no more. This series had a very fitting ending and I am so glad that Faythe picked who she picked though it was touch and go there for awhile! I did cry and those that have read the book will know where. There were losses involved in Faythes circle of friends, and we had glimpses into other peoples relationships. For anyone who has never read any of the Shifters series, please pick up at Stray and keep going, you won't regret it!

Is it sad if I admit that I cried at the end of this book simply because the series was over?! Through reading these books the characters came alive in my imagination, every lose bought a tear to my eye, even the death of Calvin and Colin because who was going to cause trouble and hurt with them gone? But the deaths that effected me to the point of snotty tears was Ethan and Greg for Ethan had become my brother and Greg my father and leader. But the lose I was lost for words and emotion for was Ryan whom I felt inclined to hate but couldn't help but love...

the battle unfolds and faythe and her family are confronted by the ultimate tragedy. this event makes her realise that she has to step up to the mark and fulfill the role she was trained for , but has been avoiding. she calls in the help of the bird shifters, who owe her a huge debt. this book also reveals which man she chooses to lead her life with. all in all a great ending but a part of me thinks rachel vincent could have kept this storyline going a lot longer. brilliant supernatural book. i highly recommend it.

This book was amazing. Such a Brilliant end, but I don't want it to end. Everyone wants something else from Faythe after being so involved in her life. It's amazing thinking back at the previous books and how much she has been through. She really has to step up to the game. Over all majorly chuffed with this book. It's amazing. Reducing you to floods of tears and making you laugh, tense up and get riled up with her! I actually found my moods changing when I wasn't reading :P enjoy!

OMG This was by far the best in the series. Everything Faythe learns and goes through is to bring her to this moment to become alpha of her pride. She has to deal with loosing people close to her. killing her ex-boyfriend, finding love in anothers arms when Marc is gone and deciding who she can and can't live without. But come the end of the story the twist at the end of it was a pleasent surprise for even me. It was one that i didn't expect.

I bought this when The Works didn't include this in their box set collection. Cheap, brand new, good condition on arrival.

This is the last book in the series, so read the rest first.

Vincent packs a punch - physically and emotionally with her characters. Absolutely love them to pieces. Fast paced action, no holds barred.

Highly recommend!

Wow! The whole shifter series was awesome but this final book was amazing. I have never felt so attached to the characters in a book! Extremely well written, heart wrenching and elating! So many emotions this book inspired, I cried smiled and laughed throughout. And although this series has been tied up brilliantly, I feel sad to say this will be the last in it.
