This review is from: Riven Shield (Sun Sword) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is another brillient book in the series. The author continues to delicately weave magic, philosophy, amazing characaterisation and action that enrapts the reader. The main plot of the series moves ever closer to resolution even as the characters wind their way through each others lives and continue their journies; Jewel and her companions discover a greater compatability than even they realised, Valedan and the northern armies enter the Dominion and so North and South begin the dance of alliance and mutual misunderstanding, Diora and her companions are a quiet presence but by no means stand still, Kiriel has learned much in her time about being human as well as darkness born and now has some interesting decisions to make, the Den begin to take on the mantle of responsibilty delving further into politics, and Elena and Telakar almost side step back into the main plot in another twist. Past histories reveal more surprises and greater depths within characters and hint at some previously unseen possiblities in the next book. This book, like all within the series is a gripping read and just whets the appetite for the next. The pace has definately increased!
