This book is a must for all dog lovers, photographers and even your dog! The photography is amazing and so inspired. A very original idea which has been very well executed. My book arrived and my dog spotted the dog on the front straight away and couldn't wait to see more. Its a great coffee table book to show your guests or if you just want something to cheer you up. I also love the ethos that Seth has, he is really in to promoting dog adoption and that can only be a good thing.........Make someone's day and buy them a copy! Or treat yourself! - I hope Seth keeps up the good work, I look forward to seeing more underwater dogs and more inspired ideas!

This book is the best dog photography book I have seen. The photos are so unique and ever photo puts a smile on my face. Its amazing to see how different the dogs look under the water compared to on dry land. Seth Casteel is a genius to come up with this unusual way to view dogs.

Received book today and will buy some more copies for Christmas gifts. It's a 'feel good' book. Original and leaves you wanting more.

beautiful photography but downloaded really badly. On some of the pages only half the photo is seen and on others is split across a page in two halves. This really spoiled it for me.

Underwater Dogs is a fabulous photography book full of pictures of, yes you guessed it, underwater dogs! The photos range from cute to hilarious to downright absurd but one thing that is completely obvious its that these dogs are loving every minute of their photo shoots. I swear in most of the photos you can actually see the smiles on their faces.

This is the kind of book that is perfect to flick through when you're having a bad day and you want something to cheer you up. It definitely has a place on my keeper shelf and I know it's one I'll be going back to time and time again. Our family dog when I was growing up loved nothing more than swimming, I just wish that we'd had the idea to invest in an underwater camera - Seth Casteel you are a genius. What I really want to know is if he is planning a second book called Underwater Cats because I'd pay a fortune for a copy of that one!

Every single visitor to my house this week has picked this book up from the coffee table and laughed out loud while they flicked through it, even the ones who aren't particularly keen on dogs. Underwater Dogs is a perfect gift for any dog lover this Christmas and if my review hasn't convinced you that this is a book you need to have in your life then perhaps the pictures in the Amazon "look inside" feature will. Who could resist those cute (if slightly manic and occasionally terrifying!) faces? This really is a must read book!

For the photos would be 5 star. Novel idea and dogs beautifully captured with some amazing expressions.
Photos technically brilliant and artistically exciting.

My problem viewing on kindle app for iPad is that several photos do not appear fully on one screen with parts cut off and split, which spoils effect / enjoyment.

So sure hard copy a 5 star kindle 3 star even with the issues glad I have and have viewed.

While it's true that these photos are unusual and well executed, this is not a book that translates well to the screens of electonic devices, even the larger ones. Many of the photos are spread acorss two pages - not something I personally care for even in paper books - but with only one page viewable at a time on a Kindle etc, it means you only get half a photo at a time, which is completely unacceptable. Even though I downloaded the sample first, it was too short to realise this.
I also felt that the photos became repetitious after a while - throwing a ball in the water and capturing the dog as it dives in to catch it was a great idea, but I'd would've liked to have seen a little more variety.
It was good to see the small photos at the end of the of the book showing the same dogs as they look normally, but this would have had more impact if these were on the same page as the underwater photos, so you could directly compare them.
So in conclusion - good photos, not much variety, poorly executed book, not device friendly.

I came across this quite by accident, it seemed a quirky present for my husband who has a working lab that' won't swim. The photography is excellent and the dogs look to be having a fabulous time, the only downside is it's a book you'll probably only look at once or twice. Not to worry I shall pass it on to someone else.

Every dog makes me smile and this book is a fantastic way of making me smile even more.

I own lots of books about dogs, and this has become another treasured addition. I decided to go for the print option over the kindle version because I believe the content of the book is better enjoyed by turning over actual pages and revealing the next furry frolicker on large, shiny sheets. Plus, others can see the book by the TV and take a moment to enjoy it also. Like a previous reviewer, I too like the fact that there is a potrait picture of the dogs in their more everyday poses and you can see the character both in and out of water.

The pictures vary between dramatic wide open, tooth baring wonders to calm & graceful moments. My favourite is still the front cover but, i am biased being a Lab owner :)

If you have a dog loving relative, get them a copy for a prezzie. Recommended

I got this as a gift for my father for Christmas as it was a bit different from the usual gifts we give each other.

We have a dog of our own who loves water and my Dad is keen on photography so it was perfect. The photography in the book is great, they are quirky and offer a view of dogs you wouldn't normally see. The photos themselves are large and highly detailed in a nicely sized photobook.

The book is a great light hearted collection of photos which provides laughs to anyone flicking through. A nice touch featured at the back of the book is thumbnail portraits of all the photographed dogs sitting normally you can compare to how they look underwater (which always raises a surprised 'really? No way!').
