Yet again we get to me Macro and Cato when they are again sent of a special mission for Vespasion and the senior officers while trying to further the invasion of Britain. Macro as usual being the down to earth and dogmatic centurion while Cato seemingly the mild youngster who thinks things through before taking action and again having to come to the aid of Macro when he goes bumbling in before thinking about consequences

Further adventures of Marco and Cato in the Roman army in Britain. These books go from strength to strength. Characters are beleivable and story easy to follow, scenes well described and lots of action.
If looking for good read look this series up and set your mind free and learn about life when the Romans came.....after all what did the Romans ever do for us?

I am new to the Scarrow books, and bought the complete set of adventures of Centurions Macro and Cato and I am hooked. Great stories intertwined with historical fact, but gives a terrific insight of life throughout the Roman Empire but with some clever modern touches to the narrative. Give me more please Mr Scarrow.

For those who enjoy a good Ancient Rome historical fiction series based on gladiators, roman frontiers, conquests and defeats - but loosely based around history so that you gain a true feeling amongst the fictional characters of how Ancient Rome May have been, one can not go past this series.
