A disappointing read considering the quality of previous books in this series. It doesn't feel like iti is even the same author. The combat scenes are unimaginative and the plot very weak. I hope later books in this series go back to the original formula.

Have been following these two right from book one, if you enjoy fictional history but with a story wrapped round it you will enjoy these books. All the books are based on true facts and battles that took place.

Every time l pick up a book containing the exploits of Macro and Cato l cant put it down. The historical accuracy and realistic descriptions of battle make u feel like ur there, heat, fear, adrenaline and all.

Its just sooo good and you cant beat it. Its best in series i would say well i suppose they get better every time. Its an amazing book and the writing is real good but best bit is the storyline.

Story about the rise to fame of a young roman and his 'older' companion who can be a bit of a naughty boy who needs a bit of saving from the younger and allagedly sensible companion.

This book takes the reader to the eastern side of the Roman Empire highlighting the different conditions that they needed to fight under. Another good book from Simon Scarrow

We know the characters will survive to the next book but it still makes compelling reading

I have already purchased the remainder of the books to number 11.

Great book, I didn't think I would enjoy reading the book electronically I always thought I wouldn't like the feel of not holding a book. But I love it it's great!

Compulsive reading, bought as a gift for my husband, so far there are 13 books in the series, so good for birthdays, fathers day and other gift giving occasions.
