5.0 out of 5 stars Relax and Enjoy Seeing Shakespeare in Live!, 5 Aug 2009
By
This is by far my favourite companion to Shakespeare. For every play, this little gem offers not only the usual brief synopsis, but also a list of the characters, together with what type of person each character is. And my favourite item is the section which gives a short production history, pointing out how the play has been interpreted over the years. I think that this amounts to just enough to quickly pick up what's going on in any unfamiliar play, and to feel I know something of its context. All in a book that's the size of an average pocket diary!

This is an excellent companion for anyone studing a literature degree or even for anyone with an interest in Shakepeare. The companion is clearly laid out and gives just the right amount of detail to understand all of his plays. It contains brief character information, key events and also has a very useful glossary of shakspearean engish. This is a must for anyone at university and can fit into any bag A*
