5.0 out of 5 stars A Feast of Milligan
A little of everything in one volume. For the young, who were not brought up on the humour of the Goons and such humerous others as Round the Horn, the Navy Lark and Radio Prune, this book is the very thing to introduce the newer afficionado of the wry, satirical, improbably zany and outrageously ridiculous, to the man who invented it all.
For those of us to whom...

3.0 out of 5 stars NOT for children
Please be aware I loved Spikes writings as a kid so thought this would be a great book to give my 7 year old daughter. It is littered with every swear word you can think of. I am not a prude but PLEASE Amazon anyone. Mark the book as unsuitable for kids when ambiguity is present!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Feast of Milligan, 23 Aug 2002
A little of everything in one volume. For the young, who were not brought up on the humour of the Goons and such humerous others as Round the Horn, the Navy Lark and Radio Prune, this book is the very thing to introduce the newer afficionado of the wry, satirical, improbably zany and outrageously ridiculous, to the man who invented it all.
For those of us to whom Milligan was the food of laughter - eat on - and enjoy again the funniest and chronically sidesplitting sketches and poems you thought you had forgotten for ever.
His astounding genius for turning and twisting the ordinary into a very simple and witty surprise, which appeals to the stupidity in all of us at all ages, is unsurpassed.
A glimps through the pages of immortal Milligan will change for ever the way you thought of lots of things in life you normally took for granted - and the Second World War will never be the same in your mind as the history books - or at least shell-shocked great uncle Harry tell it!!!!
An excellent experience and extraveganza for all ages.
