Of necessity a good deal of this book must consist of cataloguing the Lancashire sites and their associated finds within the area but this book is far from merely a listing and in its general sections of great worth to anyone living in the UK. There is much to interest the non-specialist and the beginner will have an invaluable introduction not only to the archaeology of Lancashire but the associated climatic and environmental conditions. The writing is simple, clear and free from academic fluff. Unreservedly recommended.
