4.0 out of 5 stars Colourful and funny children's book from Raymond Briggs., 15 April 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Ivor the Invisible (HB) (ABET Easy Readers) (Hardcover)
Though it's no match for The Snowman, Ivor the Invisible is a charming new book from children's favourite Raymond Briggs. My small nephew loved it, especially since he was already familiar with the cartoon it's based on.
As usual, Briggs combines a simple story - about an invisible giant who befriends a young boy - with sympathetic characters and funny set pieces. Throw in the odd rude joke (Ivor writes 'poo' on the blackboard at school, which my nephew found hysterical!) and everyone's happy. I'd recommend this for children as young as four or five and up.
