i must admit i brought this as ive already read the book and am looking forward to the film coming out later in the year. as with the other movie companions this author has done (all the twilight films) the book gives a lot of info in how the film was made, from how they chose the locations for filming and the problems they incurred to picking the actors to play each part and how it was so important to get the role of melanie/wanda right.
it details how certain scenes were created, how clothes were picked and there are quotes/comments from the actors and film crew during the process. all in all and very good detailed book, now just have to wait for the film to be released!!!

loved this in-depth look at the movie.
cannot explain how much i am looking forward to this movie, and this companion has just heightened that feeling.
loved all the pictures, and getting inside Andrew Niccol's head and understanding what parts of the book he felt had to be brought to life in the movie.
even the touches he added, like in the book the seekers have Human Guns, and see it as a necessary evil. but Andrew Niccol questioned the peace loving Souls having something so barbaric, and invented this mace spray called "peace", which shows me how much he "gets it".
Saoirse Ronan is an amazing young actress, and i cannot wait to see how she brings both Mel and Wanda to life.
oh, and Max Irons is DAMN HOT, and i cant wait to see him bring Jared to life!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing book, cant wait to see the film!, 30 April 2013
This review is from: The Host: The Official Illustrated Movie Companion (Host Film Tie in) (Paperback)
I absolutely loved this book, it had me gripped from page 1 and i felt all the emotions that went with it. Yet another great read from Stephenie. I hope the film is just as good but I understand that films always have to differ in one way or another.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant book, 1 Feb. 2014
This review is from: The Host: The Official Illustrated Movie Companion (Host Film Tie in) (Paperback)
Wow this book was brilliant I then watched the film and I was disappointed. Chunks missed out, characters not totally as portrayed in the book. Read the book first much better than the film.
