My daughter has started to learn to ride and this book is her new bible. The book even has exercises she can do when shes not riding to help strengthen her posture and riding position. It also goes into information regarding, jumping, dressage and cross country riding. Its a fabulous book and a must for anyone wanting to learn to ride, or even already riding and wanting to get better at it

I am a total beginner when it comes to horses. I bought this book after my first ever horse riding lesson at the age of 47! This book takes you through the basic techniques of horse riding. It is easy to understand with good clear pictures. Excellent at explaining to a beginner how it is done. There is also further sections as you become more experienced explaining the techniques of dressgae and show jumping. Used as a guide along with riding lessons, this book is a 'Must Have' for anyone who really enjoys riding.

I chose this rating because it was a very informative book. It was especially good for learning about jumping, which I previously had difficulty with. I also like this book because it has a list of horse and rider equipment. I would recommend this product to riders of all levels.

Handy guide that will last you through all ability levels. Really is like a manual so you can dip in and refer to the parts you need.

This book is everything it is advertised to be. As a novice rider, I find it really useful after I've had a lesson just to read up on what I've done to sort of reinforce the things I've learned. The book is beautifully put together and the illustrations are gorgeous. I think it's suitable for any age and would make a lovely gift for anyone with an interest in horses. Oh, and it goes into information on competing so it's not just for novice riders like me.

I bought this book at as I am learning to ride and wanted to know more about horses in general and get a better understanding of what I can do in order to ride better. I have found some chapters of the book useful but a lot of the book is not relevant as it is about training horses or is for more advanced levels of rider.

It seems to be a good book but I only gave it three stars because the binding is poor and pages are already falling out.

I love this book & dip in & out of it regularly; loads of info from start to finish on training & horse care; fittening for competiton, trouble shooting & more. Very much written with the horse's best interests at heart rather than the human's; which I like. William Micklem sure knows his stuff!

Bought this book after having one lesson and it's great! loads of information on many disaplines, and caters well for the very beginner, someone trying to break a horse for riding, or anyone that wants a bit of back ground reading.

Really love this book.

I bought this book for my younger granddaughter as a present. She is starting riding lessons this year and I wanted her have a reference book that she could refer to as and when she needed to. She is pleased with it and I got some brownie points for buying it!

This book was bought for a young rider with her new horse, who is rather green. She was thrilled with this book as felt it will help her at every stage of her & Biff's journey. Excellent, easy to read, & well written, all her friends are reading it too!
