5.0 out of 5 stars A clear-sighted view of important philosophers, 19 Nov. 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Child's Book of Philosophy (Hardcover)
Do not be put off this book by its title 'A Young Person's Guide To Philosophy', as a forty something year old I stumbled across this little gem, and was absolutely captivated. It is a beautifully produced hardback, with clear illustrations, and bold type. Dusty Greek names come alive with small phrases and incidents that are very memorable. The book leads you through the years to the contemporary philosophers. For those of us with little time, and a small knowledge of the major figures it was brilliant, a great starting point.

Focus on the greats of Western Philosophy - ie Greeks, men with a couple of exceptions!

Very useful format for finding individuals and seeing how thoughts progressed and changed over time.
