This review is from: From Rationing to Rock: The 1950's Revisited (Hardcover)
In "From Rationing to Rock", Stuart Hylton set out to capture the spirit of the fifties and be funny at the same time. In this he succeeded admirably. While it doesn't cover its subject in any great depth, the book does give an excellent overview of life in a "more innocent time" (Hylton's words again) while taking a wry look at some of the absurdities of the period. At once both readable and browsable.
