5.0 out of 5 stars The Life of Florence Nightingale, 16 Feb 2010
By
I bought a set of these books for a KS1 Y2 class - enough for a guided reading group as we were covering Florence Nightingale as part of a Famous People topic. The children have loved them and they have encouraged the children to read and learn more about non-fiction texts. They were perfect for teaching the children about the layout of a non-fiction text including the glossary, index and contents.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful discovery, 9 Jan 2012
The children love this range of history. It is informative, colourful and the way it is written holds the childs interest and imagination. We bought all of them in the series. My 6 year old was remembering the facts contained in these books for weeks after and on visits to London, wanted to see the various sites in London i.e. the area of the Blitz, where the fire of London broke out, The Houses of Parliament (Guy Fawkes)....He was able to hold a conversation with his peers and adults informing them of these historical accounts. We bought this range for our 5,6, & 7 year olds.

4.0 out of 5 stars a great book, 29 Dec 2011
A really good book to help stimulate your child's interest in history. Succinct chapters which keep a child interested and help them gauge what conditions would have been like. Would recommend to others.
