I'm having great success with this book. I really liked the principles of the original Holford Low-GL Diet book and cookbook but somehow I couldn't quite make it work. This book is just so much more user-friendly. Weight reduction has been a little slower than I'd hoped but steady and I feel so good eating this food that I have plenty of energy to exercise daily, a far cry from low-calorie approaches. The learning about health and nutrition is invaluable. Highly recommended.

As a firm Holford believer I am always keen to get my hands on a new recipe book of his. This book reprises the original Holford Diet in a much more user friendly way. I would recommend it to anyone new to the diet as it has lots of tips on how to create your own meals, salads, sandwiches etc sticking to his low GL format. It has a few new recipes although if this is what you're after you are probably better off buying the Holford Cookbook.

I needed a little inspiration and have started the menu plans suggested in the book. Wish me luck!!!

I was diagnosed diabetic 3 years ago and was disappointed with the lack of support and clear advice from my GP practice about diet, blood monitoring etc. Discussing my difficulties with my son-in-law was quite revelatory. He had had a totally difference experience (different county) and was immediately told to go on a Low GL diet. Now he is off all medication and just has an annual checkup.

For me, Patrick Holford's book demystified the whole subject of diabetes - what it is, how it affects our bodies in the short and the long-term. His research references from credible doctors are very helpful and make sense.

Two weeks ago I jumped into all he recommended with both feet. I've lost 7 pounds, my blood sugar is down from 12.7 plus to 5s and 6s. Even better this mornings score was 4.7! My GP is delighted and now cheering me on. The icing on the cake is the amazing boost in my energy levels which kicked in after 3 days and hasn't diminished.

Change your life with this invaluable book.

I had read this book cover to cover and and tried it. I never feel hungry and am healthier and looking younger already.

This is an excellent book. Full of very sensible nutritional advice and makes the eating plan very easy to follow. So much so, that it becomes a way of life - a very healthy way of life.

I did the low gl diet a couple years ago with Holford's Low GL Cookbook but I found this book an easier starting point this time. My husband and I are enjoying the meals, we certainly aren't going hungry, and I have lost 2" off my waist and my husband has lost 4" and gone down 6 kg in 4 weeks!
We do feel better and it is a very balanced way to eat anyway.
I've been recommending low gl to my friends.

I'm a fan of Patrick Holford, having read stuff on his website and followed some of his advice. My partner and I gave up smoking just over a year ago and as a consequence we have put on quite a bit of weight. Everything that Patrick says in the introduction makes total sense. We commenced the diet six days ago and I have lost 5lbs, my partner 6lbs. The menus are easy to follow, very very tasty, and surprisingly filling. There is the odd thing that we really don't like, for instance, porridge, so instead I have replaced this with his low GL Granola, fruit compote and yoghurt - Yum! This book has taught me a totally different way of looking at food - I will never again cook with veg or sunflower oil, knowing how good for you coconut oil is and how delicious. Lastly and by no means least - in the past, I have craved sugary things ... Chocolate, cakes, biscuits, you name it, I wanted it. Now I all I want is savoury things ... although there are sweet things in the diet (carrot & apple cake) and I do cook them. The only thing I would say is that you need to set time aside to prep all the food, but this is a really enjoyable part of the diet. Looking forward to getting to our target weights and continuing to eat in this way forever - no kidding - because we feel so fabulous and full of energy. Try it - you really won't regret it - I promise!

I love this diet - it's healthy, easy and makes perfect sense. I've only done 2 1/2 weeks and I've lost half a stone without ever feeling hungry. The meals are quick to prepare and I love being able to have two snacks a day. Some of the recipes are really nice, some are ok and a couple are horrible, but I'm hoping that this will be an eating regime that I will make use of even when I've reached my target weight. It's definitely the best diet I've ever tried and the only one that seems completely logical to me.
This book is definitely the best one to start the regime with. The cookbook can be bought later to increase your range of meals, but some of the meals in that are more complex to make, and these are all dead simple.

I bought the GL diet "Bible" from Patrick Holford quite a while ago, but found it quite difficult to get into, until recently I had to look at it because of health issues. I did manage to get my head around it, but I definitely prefer the "Made Easy" book, as it is simpler, more "organised" if you like, and it has also some different recipes in it than the Bible. I'm now almost there in following the diet, and have noticed weight loss and feeling better. I would advise it to anyone wanting to eat healthily, irrespective of health issues.

This simple book provided a great follow up to reading from Patrick Holford's heavier tomes. With lots of practical ideas that can be readily understood in terms of GL and adapted to personal taste. It's been a real help in providing appropriate and interesting meals for my diabetic husband and the resultant dishes are obviously good for the rest of the family too. It's a good thing he is used to experiments for dinner and I enjoy experimenting with the ingredients.
