"Leadership Team Coaching" is the best book yet on team coaching. It builds on the chapter in "Coaching, Mentoring and Organizational Consultancy", which Peter co-wrote with Nick Smith, adding useful detail and new ideas and approaches. At the heart of the book is a framework which describes the 5 disciplines of successful team practice. This framework provides a useful framework both for designing interventions and then guiding the live coaching as it happens. This book is for anyone who coaches teams - or aspires to do so.

Declaration of interest: I have known Peter for several years and am a fan of his thoughtful, systemic approach to coaching, consultancy and supervision.

Sports coaching skills transfer well to coaching organizational leadership teams. Peter Hawkins - a coach with experience in industry, education and government - deftly explains who leadership team coaches are, what they do, and what tools and techniques they use. getAbstract recommends this hearty introduction to those who aspire to become or to work with a team coach; Hawkins can help your teams reach their goals on the field or in the boardroom.

Another excellent resource book from Peter Hawkins. Really liked the easy to read style, and the practical examples. I've already strated to use some of the concepts in my work, and it has helped me to think through the challenges of translating individual performance improvmeent into team performance improvement. I'd recommend this book to OD professionals, facilitators, coaches and the like. There is a lot of useful models and insight into the challenges of coaching teams rather than individuals - it is also worth using this book as a guide to what great team coaching looks like. It is clear that Peter sets the bar high, and if your purchasing or considering using a team coach then this book will help you to consider what outcomes you would like to get.

Peter has set out his framework for systemic team coaching in a way that will engage not only the coach-practitioner but also any leader curious to learn more about the dynamics of developing a team that has measurable and sustainable impact. He presents the framework simply, but as a practitioner working alongside Peter I would recommend that the reader dig deep into the implications of each of the dimensions before setting out to apply them. An appreciation of the underlying complexity of the model is essential to its successful execution. With this note of caution I highly recommend the book.

I have dipped into this book but have got some great practical tips and examples, which I've already used. The information is displayed in an easy-to-read and reference format.
