5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST SHORT STUDY ON BINOCULARS HISTORY, 8 Jan 2003
This review is from: Binoculars, Opera Glasses and Field Glasses (Shire Album) (Paperback)
This precious 32 page booklet tells us the complete history of binoculars from their invention almost four centuries ago to the modern types we use today. The text describes the natural miracle of binocular vision, explains the workings of the different models and provides a thorough glossary of technical terms. There are also 56 b&w photos and engravings. This is a valuable reference source for binocular collectors and researchers in this fascinating subject. The chapter dealing with military binoculars is particularly well researched and interesting.Highly recommended.
