This review is from: The Tenant and The Motive (Paperback)
These two novellas are from the same mould -- quirky stories with a twist that Cercas wrote while developing a style that led to the crowning achievement of Soldiers of Salamis.

They are lightweight, easy pieces with a dark centre, reminiscent of Poe or Dahl -- interesting reads that display the author's obsession with time and how the looping past influences the present. Probably for completists only.
