from the 'Usborne First Reading' series of books.

This particular book is : LEVEL FOUR.

From the back cover:-

'Goldilocks looks as good as gold. But Goldilocks isn't good.
She's naughty! She likes to do something naughty EVERY day - until she goes a step too far.....'

48 high quality shiny pages in the popular 2-page spread format.
Numbered pages.
Beautifully illustrated throughout in vibrant colours, this super book is further enhanced by meaningful expressions and some speech bubbles. Complete with bright golden yellow ribbon bookmark!
Clear, easy-to-read text, with repeat element, and enhanced in places for effect.

Example of text:-

'Once upon a time there was a little girl called Goldilocks. She had lovely golden hair and looked as good as gold. But Goldilocks wasn`t good. She was naughty.
She liked to do something naughty every day.
"If you don't stop being naughty," said her mother, "your hair will turn blue."
"I don't believe you!" said Goldilocks, and put salt in the sugar pot......'

and after answering back in similar fashion to her father AND giving her little brother a haircut (!), naughty Goldilocks takes herself out to the woods, despite her mother's warnings about THE BEARS......
However, this Goldilocks is not going to be told!
And as the story continues in the normal way........there IS..... surprisingly..... a changed little girl at the end!

Had misgivings about the storyline with its initial celebration of naughtiness - but it is an excellent retelling and 2 yr old DD often loves to hear it. A worthwhile buy that your child will enjoy.

Although the first spread of pages is quite bad at giving toddlers misbehaving pointers, the rest of the story runs smoothly and is accurate to the original
