This product is indeed great, the single player walk through is detailed and they give you tips on the best weapons to use on each level (even though they usually suggest weapons you don't have unlocked on your first play through). The multiplayer sections offers good tips for the different game modes and they have detailed maps the give you spots that you can use to your advantage depending on your play style. Don't expect this book to dramatically increase your performance in the game though, however they do offer example builds for different playstyles but mostly you just need to find your own prefered play style and practise. The maps are the most useful part for multi player because they show you hot spots where a lot of the action is likely to take place which you can use to you advantage. They also have a section for the Zombies levels but I rarely play that so I haven't looked too much into it however it does seem to be as detailed as the solo and multi play sections so it should help you out if you like to play that way. They also have a section near the back with tips from pro players, which can be useful if you think your play style may be similar to theirs because they show you some of their favourite load outs.
A nice little feature with this edition is the little hard back journal / diary. I found this useful to write out ideas for the pick 10 options and to write down the more important information in the solo player walkthrough that can easily be missed when reading the book. (like challenges and intel)
All in all this is most definitely a good buy, useful to those who are not so great at the game (like me) but may also offer some good tips to those who are already pros.

The strategy guide provides a good overview of the maps, weapons, game modes and suggested Class 'set-ups' that Black Ops 2 has to offer, and would be suitable for anyone who may not have played any of the recent Call of Duty games.
However, if you are looking for more in-depth information, guides, walk-through, player card descriptions etc., then I would not necessarily recommend this book.
Having said that, as an avid Call of Duty fan, this strategy guide is a great addition to the collection.
