It's only just a strategy guide inasmuchas it gives a little information about enemies strengths and weaknesses. And that's IT as far as strategy goes in my opinion.
Where they went wrong and what would improve it:
1. Indications of when sub-quests can be initiated would be helpful - rather than just lumping them all into a chapter at the end with a suggestion that before you go and fight your final boss and finish the game, "here are 27million little (and for the most part now pointless) things to do before you fight the final enemy - in several different lists, by area, by character ....... lists lists everywhere but not a jot of help!
2. Typo errors R Us! Left instead of right, north instead of south and so on - a nightmare particularly when you note point 3.
3. No maps! None, not a single one! None! (Which is just oh so helpful considering how unreliable are the written directions). (No maps in the game to reproduce - the writers would have had to actually do a bit of work, and worse still - ESSENTIALLY - P L A Y T H E G A M E - to provide the guide with maps).
4. The Bestiary is close to hopeless because the most important piece of information required is the magic element of the enemy (fire, water, earth, wind etc). They have (again lazily) just reproduced screen images. Unfortunately they are so small that it's impossible to determine the magic element without the use of a magnifying glass - even the colour guide is too muddy to be of use.
This is not a strategy guide, it's a bit of a walkthrough with lots and lots of lists. My advice is save your money and download a FAQ/Walkthrough from the internet; there are several excellent ones and vary from a "hint and nudge you in the right direction" style to a complete "go 3 screens left, look in the NW corner for item Thera Seed, go 1 screen up" style; with/without spoilers; and THERE ARE MAPS!!!!!!!
A strategy guide should of course be a guide to strategies - few and far between here. They have solely concentrated on the Walkthrough, which is actually worse than hopeless because it walks you through the wrong way, at the wrong time, to the wrong place, with the wrong people (aw I guess you get the point). Whoever wrote this guide is clearly not a RPG-er! Shame on them!!!!

This is THE worst strategy guide i have bought. I usually buy them so i can get all the secret items/equipment and to complete sidequests. This stategy guide - after only one area - decides to not tell you where all the hidden items are but will "tell you where the equipment/important items are hidden". They dont even do a good job at that - the guide is not very specific when it comes to its description of finding items - a classic example of this is "there is a sword in the first room" - only for you to spend 15mins trying to find the item as you have to search the whole room.
Also, when the guide is telling you where to go - it referes to the mini-map in the top left of the screen (it doesn't refer to the way the character moves). it doesn't tell you this though. i spent over an hour trying to get out of a dungeon trying to follow the guides directions.
this guide appears to be written by somebody who spent as little time as possible on the game because they were bored. I would recommend that you get a copy of someones guide off the internet who actually cared about the game.
