I bought this novel as I have been a fan of Jackie Collins for years and have read and re-read every one of her books. However, if you picked any one of her last three books you would get the same story but with different character names. The last chapter of these books summarises everything that has happened and concludes each scenario. This makes you feel that the previous chapters could have been missed out and you would still know what has gone on. Why this style of writing has appeared I don't know but it has not gone down well with me.
Where has the Collins magic gone? Boring, bland and feels like you have read it before!!!

If you like Jackie collins you will love this book. It has everything sex, glamour, suspense, scandal and a hero who you have already met(and whos description makes you wish you could meet him in real life). The book had me hooked from the beginning and yes i agree with some of the other reviews that you do guess the end but thats typical Jackie collins. If you havn`t read Jackie collins books i recommend this all though you may want to start with some of her earlier books as this book brings up previous characters. Jackie collins at her best and i can`t wait to read her new one.

Having read many Collins books i felt a little let down by this one.
I found the book very abrupt in its ending and a little to far fetched even for Ms. Collins, but if you're looking for Glamour, Sex and fast living its all here.
Worth taking the chance on this one just to decide for yourself.

I finally managed to pick up and read one of Jackie Collins' books. After reading many chick-lit novels and being constantly reminded that Jackie is one of the best authors, I decided to given in and read this book.

I didn't expect this book to be as over the top and as far fetched as it was. It was, for me, far to unrealistic, to the point where I was going to stop reading it. However, the more I read, the more I wanted to know how it would end. Reading about each of these women can get a little confusing at time, especially at first when you're trying to remembe,r which woman is the actress and so on and so on. I felt abit dissapointed that I never got to make a connection with any of the charatcers, to be honest they were all a little bland and see through.

I was abit annoyed at the ending, it was, as another reviewer has called it, an abrubt ending. It felt kind of rushed, as if she just wanted to get the ending over and done with. However, the book as a whole was okay. The way Jackie writes is brilliant, it's just a shame I didn't think this book was any good.

The idea of Jackie Collins writing a follow up almost twenty years later to 'Hollywood Wives' is an appealing idea. The end result is not so appealing. Extremely dull characters, most of whom make no contribution to the story, including a bland heroine who shouts and shouts to get her way but deep down needs a man to make her life complete. There's a psycho with a kidnap plot so mind-numbmingly banal you start hoping it's maybe just a dream. This completely lacks the humour, bite and sense of women in very precarious social positions that distinguished the original. A serious disappointment, the story has plenty of possibilities but sticks to the most obvious and tired route to get to the end.

I bought Hollywood Wives - The Next Generation from an English book shop when I was Spain. I had never read anything from Jackie Collins before and as it was raining I delved straight in.

I have since read many of Jackie Collins novels - as I love the way she writes and find the books a really enjoyable read. Scandal, passion, lies and conspiracy - there's also lots of twists and turns that keep you guessing and the best part is trying to work out which well-known stars and personalities Jackie has based the characters on...

If you're not already a fan, then give her books a go and if you are, then this is one of the best!!

I've only just discovered Jackie Collins after having read all of Jilly Cooper's fabulous books. I wanted something in a similar vein of writing with strong characters and storylines, a large number of pages and a compelling read. I found all of these and more with this book and have gone on to read more by Jackie Collins.

I bought this for my daughter to read on holiday, she passed a few hours thoroughly enjoying this book, whilst working on her tan, sipping a few sneaky cocktails and soaking up the atmosphere on the beautiful island of Rhodes.

The original Hollywood Wives, was in no way of a doubt a classic. But this follow up, really is exactly something to look forward to after the original. A nice follow up.
