1.0 out of 5 stars Great looking book, unfortunately no depth
I was looking forward to learning about Access 2010, and crucially how to use it, as well as how to build a database from scratch. I was looking forward to learning about Access 2010, and crucially how to use it, as well as how to build a database from scratch. This book reads like a reference book, which isn't suitable for someone like me who knows absolutely nothing about databases and how they work. It would suit someone who has some familiarity with Access 2003 or Access 2007, as it keeps mentioning those previous versions - so really, the book seems more an 'upgrade' book for people who already know how databases work and how to build them. This book would be more like a "get used to the 2010 version based on your existing knowledge".

As I have no existing knowledge of MS Access, this book is pointless to me. I sent my copy back to Amazon, and thankfully they've refunded me. Bottom line - only buy this book if you want to learn how to build databases Access 2010-style. Don't buy it if you have no knowledge of databases in the first place.
