3.0 out of 5 stars Excel 2010 Plain and Simple
I have not read the whole book. It is very technical BUT made simple???
There is a surprising lack of continuity in the examples. Some important "screens" are missed out, especialy at the beginning of an exercise thereby breaking the continuity before it is even started making it impossible to follow the logic of the steps in the process.

The book, if not actually useless is a chore making a solution more difficult and time consuming than it should be.
"PLAIN & SIMPLE" it is NOT! and the Font in the windows is riduculously small - I have to use a magnifying glass to read it.

Plain and Simple it may be but the narrative without readable screens is simply not enough. Even for someone with 20/20 vision, the screen displays in this manual are simply unreadable due to their size. The book needs to be A4 format with serious revisions to the displays. Using a magnifying glass is simply impractical. Mine returned for refund. Cannot understand Amazon, usually extremely good, publishing such a book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excel a mystery?, 8 Oct 2014

For me an update of the 2003 edition, well illustrated and explained. However I would like to see a bit more of the practical publishing applications which seemingly are availble within the Excel software. No one seems to be bothered with that side of the applications!
