5.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting, 7 Feb 2013

Very interesting read and quite a jaw dropper with the information it reveals about the attitude of the ex-king Edward VIII. Who sold his brother Sandringham house and Balmoral because he had inherited it when their father died - you and I might see it as the property of a current sovereign, he thought they were his private houses. Then later on asking if he could come back to the UK but putting conditions on it like 'we expect to be able to live there tax free'. Really interesting about how the rest of the royal family, even the brother he expected to take over the kingship from him, were kept completely in the dark right up to the moment he abdicated. Its no wonder there was a rift he treated his family with disdain and threw his brother in the deep end to a job that he had not been trained for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Royal Dallas!, 15 Mar 2014
This review is from: Royal Feud: The Queen Mother and the Duchess of Windsor (Hardcover)
This is a fascinating book. It doesn't bog you down too much with the legalities of it all, but explains both constitutionally and personally why the Queen Mum hated this woman so much. The fact that the Duke of Windsor seemed to be under the impression that it was all about him marrying Mrs Simpson and not because he abdicated, sympathized with Hitler, could give and sell his favors and inheritance beggars belief! An excellent read

5.0 out of 5 stars Royal notes, 24 Oct 2011
This was a genuinely good read, if you are interested in the topic. There was a lot of the content which shifted from hearsay to fact.
