The lady who wrote this book is obviously very practical and technically skilled. She provides information and good tips about making mosaic, glues etc. It really does contain everything you need to start off. However, I think that using a saw to shape your own plywood bases and drilling mosaics, such as a toothbrush holder, to a wall would put most people off. But it is full of other useful practical tips for those who don't want to use a drills or saws.
The downside of this book is that I found her designs less than pleasing to the eye, and some of her pieces I found quite awful. But I am trained in art and design so perhaps I am a little fussy about colours etc. The prettiest piece I would say is on the front cover. This book very much reminded me of the craft magazines my sister used to buy in the 1970s.
The colours she uses and the designs personally don't inspire me, however as I say, lots of useful practical tips for reference.
