5.0 out of 5 stars A book that only 'true artists' will understand.
I found this little book in a small art bookshop in Singapore many years ago and it became one of my few treasured possessions. If you are not innately creative and artistic, you simply will not 'get' what the book is telling you - a problem obviously encountered by the previous reviewer. But if you are creative, you'll find the book an absolute goldmine of tips, tricks,...

Half-baked and ill-concieved. A poor man's "Art of looking sideways" that gets nowhere near the mark. I've had more inspiration waiting at a bus stop than with this book. I don't like to be negative but I don't want anyone else wasting their hard earned money. It's a pity because it's obvious time was spend producing this book that could have been spent doing...

I found this little book in a small art bookshop in Singapore many years ago and it became one of my few treasured possessions. If you are not innately creative and artistic, you simply will not 'get' what the book is telling you - a problem obviously encountered by the previous reviewer. But if you are creative, you'll find the book an absolute goldmine of tips, tricks, facts, techniques and hints to loosen up that creative mind of yours. You'll find yourself experimenting with ideas and ways of thinking you never that clicked with you before. That's the real magic of this book. It takes the blinkers off your eyes.

Buy it, discover new things and enjoy.

Fantastically inspirational. There really is some great stuff in here, whether you're just starting out or a seasoned old hand, there is something in here for you. I especially liked the section on going out and making you're own personal stock image collection. In other words, go out and take photos of everything and anything you like. Me and my daughter have already planned our own "photo field trip". The section on having an art night and inviting you're friends and relatives round is great, with a big table laid out, covered in art supplies (even having a huge sheet of paper as a tablecloth) and everybody just going for it is inspired. This is what Art should be. There really are too many brilliant sections to mention. If you're into art, professionally or just interested, you will not go wrong with this book. In my opinion, it's worth every one of those five stars at the top. Really.
