5.0 out of 5 stars Great read for the uninitiated!!!, 7 Jun 2009
I have been looking for relatively easy information on glaze materials and recipe creation for some time and happened upon this book by chance. It's a great read for those who are really interested in getting to know the in's and out's of glaze creation. Detailed info on glaze material, what makes a glaze, and how to adapt to your own needs. As previous reviewer says more coloured pictures would be good, maybe in editions later than 1978 they have these? Not a book for anyone just wanting glaze recipes.

4.0 out of 5 stars for the serious potter, 5 Feb 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If one wants to know how to make glazes and how glazes work this book is detailed, mathematical but interesting to read neverthless. One of the disappointments is that many of the plates are not coloured so the test tiles are difficult to discern and for me this led to certain amount of disinterest. Definitely for the serious potter
