5.0 out of 5 stars Very desirable for panther tank fans
This book is similar in style to the popular New Vangaurd series and will be just as useful to modellers and enthusiasts. It covers the design, development, production and technical features of the Panther and Bergpanther. The Jagdpanther only gets cursory mention because the publishers are saving it for another book. 1.0 out of 5 stars Dont buy this book!
This is the worst book on the Panther I have ever read. Actually I do believe that its the worst book ever written on the subject.
First - the book is full of errors: Panther A's are referred to as Gs or Ds and visa versa.
Its not that every pages has some kind of error - but its bloody close!
Many of the pics are of a rather bad condition (other...

This review is from: PzKpfw V Ausf A, D & G Panther (Tanks in Detail) (Paperback)
This book is similar in style to the popular New Vangaurd series and will be just as useful to modellers and enthusiasts. It covers the design, development, production and technical features of the Panther and Bergpanther. The Jagdpanther only gets cursory mention because the publishers are saving it for another book. There are several colour pages devoted to markings and insignia. There are some drawings and lots of photographs, all of which are reasonably large. The vehicle interior is especially well documented.

This review is from: PzKpfw V Ausf A, D & G Panther (Tanks in Detail) (Paperback)
This is the worst book on the Panther I have ever read. Actually I do believe that its the worst book ever written on the subject.
First - the book is full of errors: Panther A's are referred to as Gs or Ds and visa versa.
Its not that every pages has some kind of error - but its bloody close!
Many of the pics are of a rather bad condition (other publications proove that much better photos are available)- a lot of pictures show destroyed panthers in destroyed factories or interiors in destroyed vehicles. A too large part of the pages are used for rarities as US M10 tank destroyer panther/mock up and the use of Panther turrets in static defenses.
The space could have been used for pictures of panthers in action (of wich there are almost none).
The book looks to me as if it was done halfhearted using a scrap together of pictures and drawings - instead of good research.
There are many good books on the Panther tank - so buy one of theese instead.
The form here forces me to give one star - but don't think that I mean to give one!
