5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly What Is Needed, 6 Sep 2011
This little book is exactly what is needed to begin an exploration of the history of the National Trust. The foundation of the Trust is steeped in ideological conflict that has never been completely resolved, most of which surrounding the question of whether preserving the Trust's estates is of more benefit to wealthy estate owners or of more benefit to the public. This book does not answer that question; however, it provides rich insights into the motivations of the Trust's founders and offers places to continue one's research.
