4.0 out of 5 stars Leading British text in Pharmacognosy, 7 Mar 2011
This review is from: Trease and Evans' Pharmacognosy, 16e (Hardcover)
Unquestionably the most prestigious British textbook in Pharmacognosy" edited by W.C. Evans BPharm BSc PhD DSc FIBiol FLS FRPharmS along with ten prominent contributors. Packed with facts, highly successful throughout the years - now in its 16th edition. A must-have for students approaching the exam and a invaluable reference companion for professional pharmacists.
Suggestions for improvement in the 17th edition: line drawings, larger type, more appealing layout, adding colour - but most urgently: adoption of the new botanical systematics and phylogeny according to APG and APweb! The Englerian system should be mentioned, but remains historic - students need to be made aware that times have changed in this regard, especially when it comes to assignments and publications where they must follow current nomenclature and systematics.
