5.0 out of 5 stars I am pleased to see this book is available again., 20 Oct 2005
It is a book I want to recommend to anybody looking for a key to untangle our past Mythological tradition, as it re-emerged in the Renaissance.
The book is a pearl of wisdom for any body eager or curious to have a closer look at the Gods and Goddesses that disappeared from Europe during the Middle ages to be re-presented by the Fifteenth-Century Sculptors and Painters of Italy.
Jean Seznec gives us the key to understand the oppression of the Christian Church, and we regain the Genius in Mythology and our European Mythological Philosophical past - Stripped of Christian Doctrine and Symbols. The ancient Gods and Goddesses re-emerges for us, not as abominations or Barbarian, Pseudo-Antique Divinities, but in their own right - with information of the philosophy incorporated in the original Icon.
