5.0 out of 5 stars Well-written popular science, 24 Sep 2006
The authors tell a gripping tale of discovery and discoverers, and on top of that they clearly explain some the essential biochemistry underlying the science.

The book's photographs and design are just great - even people who wouldn't normally look at my pop-science bookshelves are enchanted by the fluorescing corals and jellyfish shimmering from this book.
