This is an early work of the author. There is a mixture of subjects in the book. These range from Norse Myth and history, to PCism gone amok, to college politics and religious stresses in modern America. To tackle one or two of these would be taxing, and unfortunately the author does not carrying this challenge off with the required skill. He does show promise: in the excellent sections on Norweigian history and the well crafted character of Odin showing that Old god's awful grandeur. However, overall the story fails to knit together as a whole. A better written work by the author is "Erling's World".
