4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable and Informative, 26 May 2014
I am currently studying various times in history, especially relating to the relationship between England and France.
I have found this book very easy to read, although slightly technical at times concerning weather elements, but even these I found, were explained well.
William Rosen put things in perspective, taking into consideration the weather changes: the Medieval Warm Period, famine, the population increase and the different battles between the kings of France, Scotland and England. This gave me a view I hadn't considered before. Often I have found that history can just be about what happened on what date, this gave me a good view of life at that particular time.
Historically, well researched and enjoyable to read.
