This is an excellent book. I bought it for my son to take to university and I ended up using it myself and had to buy him another one. I love all the 'bung it in' methods and all the ingredients are easily acquired. Good healthy meals and snacks that can all be adapted easily to suit tastes. Excellent lay out and value. Highly recommend.

This book was passed on to my husband by friends who were far too much into plain grilled meat to ever use it, but I've made thorough use of it both when we were students and now that we're not. The vegetarian dishes are delicious (my particular favorites are the chunky carrot and lentil soup, the veggie lentil bake, and the veggie burgers; a lot of the other recipes can be adapted with meat subs), and the chocolate mousse recipe has the bonus of being both veg-friendly and absolutely delicious - it is a must-make.

As a picture-cookbook-devotee, I had to dock it one star for complete lack of pictures, but I understand the want to keep the price down for students short on cash.

All in all, thoroughly recommended!

This book includes some nice ideas, however in my opinion it isnt ideal for the first time cook. It assumes you know how to do many simple tasks, which many students dont. For example it may only give 5 steps in a recipie when it could have 10, leaving me confused about what I should be doing.

Its layout is nice and its seperated into sections such as cheap eats, meals for mates ect. Could do with some pictures of meals though!

Buy "How to Boil an Egg" to cover the cooking basics and you should be fine with this book. Even better buy "Nosh 4 Students" as it includes the basics, is nicely presented, and has pictures!

I bought this book as I am hopeless at cooking (seriously I could burn water!). But I found this book easy to use and the recipes were well varied, so you weren't cooking the same sort of dishes each time. Although it says students, I would recommend this book to anyone. Admittedly there are no pictures to refer to, but it allows you feel confident that you have produced the dish as the book instructed. Overall, it's a useful book for the first time cooks and the old hands.

I expected some extremely basic but varied meal ideas, i got varied but not so much basic. Even still, the book doesn't even attempt to play it safe with the stereotypical student meals, it just goes straight in for the exotic ideas leaving for a very odd "Grocery List". Overall certainly not your beginners book but if you want to expand your menu ideas then certainly something to consider.

Excellent simple basic recipes. Do not require lots of equipment, ingredients or specialist cooking knowledge. Bought one for my daughter going to university and then one for myself as recipes are simple and easy to follow. Gives clear instructions, prep times, cooking times and how many each recipe will serve. Only downside there are no pictures of final dish but other than that, great.

This book arrived incredibly fast which was fantastic, I could cook straight away!
Its simple, easy to follow and well layed out. Theres a wonderful variety of recipes to cater for all tastes.
However it will take a little bit of working out to figure out portion sizesvas some recipes are for 4 orr 6.
Other than tgat, I cant complain!

I'm glad I bought this book and its been a real life saver to me. My course is one that keeps me busy most of the time and the last thing I'd want is preparing a meal that lasts ages or going hungry. I'm now able to fix quick meals and at the save valuable time all at one go.The Student Cookbook (Cookery)

This product is good, as it contains easy-to-follow recipes and some good dishes.
However, there is quite a lot of ingredients to most of the recipes, which means they won't be economical to me as a student, which is why I bought the book :S
Having said that, it is a good cookbook, and like I stated, easy to follow
