...if so, then this one's for you.
This story is a beautiful children's piece, which can inspire nostalgia in even the most hardened adults (like me!). It's a tale of eco-friendly rare-beast saving, with the creatures in question being even more cutely alarming than the slugs five-year-olds tend to bring in from the garden.

I loved book when I was little and was worried it wouldn't live up to my memory of it. But it does. It's a compelling and fast paced story, peopled by great characters like heroic children battling unpleasant aunts and of course the mischevious, mercurial, muddy but adorable bogwoppits (I still wish I could have one!). Why this one hasn't become one of the classics is a mystery

I used to read Bogwoppit to my daughter when she was a little girl and it was a great favourite with both of us. We even nicknamed our dog after Bogwoppit! We still talk about it some 35 years later, in fact, I am going to buy a copy of it for her 40th birthday later this month!
