4.0 out of 5 stars A Worthwhile Read, 2 Sept. 2009

This review is from: FileMaker Pro 10: The Missing Manual (Missing Manuals) (Paperback)
You can download information about Filemaker 10 from Filemaker's website, but none of it will be as good as this weighty tome, which takes you from the basics to more advanced topics. Two irritating factors are the constant reference to the fact that you can download the missing CD files to follow the learning from their website. I only need telling once. There is also a constant reference to items before and after in the book, making this a book that you wont read to read from back to front, which seems because of the structure of the book the most logical way to read it. If I lost this would I replace it? Yes, but only if Special User Edition - Filemaker 10 still hasn't come onto the marketplace.

In the days when most software no longer comes with a printed manual, this is a really useful reference book. If you need a filemaker guide book, you couldn't do much better. Like it says on the cover, it's the missing manual.FileMaker Pro 10: The Missing Manual

5.0 out of 5 stars Just the Job, 20 Feb. 2010

This review is from: FileMaker Pro 10: The Missing Manual (Missing Manuals) (Paperback)
Having used only Access in the past, I am glad I changed to Mac and now have Filemaker. Though it is of course available for the "other" op system, I just needed the excuse. This is a great programme which leaves Access standing.
