This book came quick. Delivery always good. The books itself, I use for alot of my assignments but also makes for an interesting read. Although never suggested to me by a tutor to read. I have kept this finding and it has proven very useful about the alternative media, grassroot organisations and the development of technology to assist that. It is a power to the people book and it celebrates that. Imagine DIY media and citizen journalism.

In online journalism circles Dan Gillmor is seen as something of a guru of citizen journalism, and this book shows why. It demonstrates his extensive knowledge of the form, in readable and clear prose, covering the rise of bloggers and citizen journalists, how the news media and politicians have reacted, and where the future might take us. Any budding journalist should read this.
